5 Proven Fundraising Ideas You Can Use in Your Restaurant Today

Fundraising Night

Are there any restaurants that come to mind when you hear the phrase “fundraiser night”? Well, I can think of a few. Chick-fil-A for instance, allows you to book a date for your fundraising night online. A portion of the proceeds from that fundraiser will go back to the group or organization. Another option could be to select one night a week that can be dedicated only for fundraising. Similar to what was mentioned earlier, you can have groups or organizations within the community sign up in advance, and a portion of the sales from that night as well as any tips that are made, can be given to those that signed up. These individuals can also help when it comes to busing the tables or delivering the food. They can act as your special helpers if you so choose to make them feel more connected to the fundraiser.

Charitable Cause

Not every restaurant needs to dedicate a night to fundraising. It can be as simple as selecting a charity that resonates with you and choosing to support it. An idea for this could be to choose a local charity or non-profit organization such as the Humane Society, that you wish to generate funds. Some restaurants will have a charity of the month. You can choose to set it up however you’d like. A percentage of the proceeds from that month or whatever time frame you decide, will go towards the charity you chose.

5k Fun Run

This is a popular fundraising event that is used by many different restaurants and businesses. It offers a crowd pleasing activity that is fun for the whole family. It can be quite the sizable event or something smaller within your own community. The funds generated from this event can go towards a local charity or non-profit organization of your choice. This idea of fundraising for local charities can boost both your brand awareness and positive image of your business in the community. If potential customers see how generous you and your business are being towards these charities, then it might encourage them to visit your establishment.

Dining for Dollars

Similar to denoting a charity of the month, this idea would work for one day a month to donate proceeds from that day to a local charity or organization. So instead of donating a percentage of the sales from an entire month to a charity, you would designate a specific day where a percentage of the sales would be donated to a charity.

Discount Cards or Coupon Books

Many schools sell coupon books as a fundraiser. These coupon books can also be sold in restaurants at the front counter. They contain coupons from various businesses and restaurants within the community. These coupons benefit local businesses and restaurants.

There is no one size fits all when it comes to fundraising, but any sort of fundraising will benefit both you and the community.
